Yves Heitkamp · Independent software development

Data engineering, journey planning and public transport software.

I build software and data systems at the intersection of public transport, multimodal routing and data quality. My projects cover GTFS preprocessing, cross-feed data fusion, routing, Android development, APIs and visual tools for understanding complex transit data.

Based in Dortmund, Germany · open to remote, hybrid and relocation opportunities

Working projects

Software systems built to be inspected and tested.

Public synthetic demoKeetson

GTFS data analysis and visualisation for transparent review workflows.

Keetson makes stops, lines, operators, timetables and deviations visible. Its public demo uses only a purpose-built synthetic GTFS dataset.

Sole design and development: Yves Heitkamp.

Current work also includes data validation, normalisation, feed fusion, data modelling, data visualisation, routing and search logic, unit tests, and Linux and Docker in practical use and ongoing development.

Additional project

LineManager - Public transport strategy game.

Network design and operations

An Android strategy game about designing and operating public transport networks.

Implementation

Canvas-based map, line and vehicle logic, passenger routing, transfers, local persistence, unit tests and secure offline map updates.

Technologies

Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Canvas, DataStore, JSON, HTTPS and unit tests.

Status: active development.
